Symptom 1: Wrong Password Error

  • Step 1 — Verify Caps Lock is OFF (most common cause of repeated wrong-password errors)
  • Step 2 — Try typing password in a text editor first to confirm characters
  • Step 3 — If recently changed: confirm you're using the latest password, not old one
  • Step 4 — If you can't remember: click 'Forgot Password?' on login page
  • Step 5 — Receive reset email within 5 minutes; click link; set new password
  • Step 6 — Log in with new password

Symptom 2: Reset Email Not Arriving

  • Step 1 — Check spam/promotions folder (most common cause)
  • Step 2 — Verify the email address you entered matches your registered email (typos common)
  • Step 3 — Wait 5 full minutes — emails occasionally delay
  • Step 4 — If still missing: try requesting reset again (rate-limited to once per 5 min)
  • Step 5 — If still nothing after 15 min: contact support — possible the registered email is different than you remember

Symptom 3: 2FA Code Not Working

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) codes are time-based (TOTP). They expire every 30 seconds. If your code is rejected, the most common cause is: device clock not synced. Solution: sync your phone/computer clock to automatic network time, generate fresh code, retry within 30 seconds.

  • Fix Step 1 — Sync your phone's clock to network automatic time
  • Fix Step 2 — Open Google Authenticator (or Authy); wait for new 30-second code generation
  • Fix Step 3 — Enter code IMMEDIATELY (don't wait, it expires every 30 sec)
  • Fix Step 4 — If still failing: use a recovery code (you saved them when enabling 2FA)
  • Fix Step 5 — If no recovery codes: contact support for 2FA reset (requires KYC re-verification)

Symptom 4: Account Locked

After 5+ failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked for security. Lock duration: 30 minutes for first lockout, escalating for repeated lockouts.

  • Wait 30 minutes; try again with correct credentials
  • If forgot password: use 'Forgot Password' even during lockout (this works)
  • Avoid trying random passwords during lockout — each attempt extends the timer
  • For repeated lockouts: contact support; security team may require KYC re-verification

Symptom 5: 'Suspicious Activity' Block

If logging in from a new location (different country, VPN, etc.), Quotex's security system may block the login attempt and email you for verification. This is normal protection — not an account issue.

  • Check email for 'Login Verification Required' message
  • Click verification link in email
  • Confirm location/device — Quotex will whitelist this for future logins
  • If you weren't actually trying to log in: someone is attempting unauthorized access. Change password immediately.

Symptom 6: 'Account Disabled' Message

Accounts can be disabled for: long inactivity (12+ months); violation of Terms of Service; AML/legal compliance action. Contact support immediately if you see this — accounts can sometimes be reactivated after document submission, but funds in disabled accounts may be at risk.

Login Issues FAQ

I lost access to my 2FA device — am I locked out forever?

No, but recovery requires KYC verification. Contact Quotex support; they'll guide you through identity verification with passport/ID and selfie. Once verified, they'll disable 2FA so you can log in and re-setup with a new device. Process takes 2-5 business days typically.

Can someone steal my account if they get my password?

Not if 2FA is enabled — they'd also need access to your 2FA device. This is why we strongly recommend 2FA. Without 2FA, password alone is enough — anyone with your email and password can log in and potentially withdraw funds. Enable 2FA today if you haven't already.

My account email got hacked — what now?

Critical situation. Immediately: (1) Regain control of email account (change email password, enable 2FA on email); (2) Contact Quotex support to freeze account temporarily; (3) Submit KYC re-verification to prove you're the rightful owner; (4) Change Quotex password once account is reaccessed; (5) Enable 2FA on Quotex if not already. The faster you act, the more likely funds remain safe.

Can I have multiple Quotex accounts?

No. Terms of Service permit one account per person, per email, per IP. Detected multiple accounts can result in all being closed and balances forfeited. If you want a separate environment to test, use Demo account within your existing account (no second registration needed).

Why am I being asked to verify my country/location?

Quotex restricts certain countries (US, Canada, EEA, etc.). If your IP geolocation shows a restricted country, you may be blocked. Possible causes: VPN being detected; recent country move; mobile data routing through restricted-country servers. Provide proof of residence in non-restricted country (recent utility bill matching your KYC address).

I changed phone number — does 2FA still work?

Yes, if you used Google Authenticator or Authy (these are app-based, not SMS-based — they work without phone number). If you used SMS 2FA, you need to update your phone number in Profile → Security after logging in via recovery code.
