Quotex Forgot Password — Reset Guide
Standard Password Reset Process
- Step 1 — Go to quotex.vg/login (or click Login from any page)
- Step 2 — Click 'Forgot Password?' link below the login form
- Step 3 — Enter the email address you registered with
- Step 4 — Click 'Send Reset Link'
- Step 5 — Open your email; find message from Quotex (subject: 'Password Reset')
- Step 6 — Click the reset link (valid for 24 hours)
- Step 7 — Enter new password (must be 8+ characters, mix of upper/lower/digits)
- Step 8 — Confirm new password; click 'Reset Password'
- Step 9 — Log in with new password
Reset Email Not Arriving — Troubleshooting
- Check spam/promotions folder — most common cause of 'missing' emails
- Wait 5 full minutes — email systems occasionally delay
- Verify you typed the correct email — typos common, no error shown if email doesn't exist
- Check if you used a different email when registering — try other emails you might have used
- Try requesting reset again — rate-limited to once per 5 minutes
- Add [email protected] (or current Quotex email domain) to your contacts to bypass spam filters
Password Requirements
- Minimum 8 characters (12+ recommended)
- Mix of uppercase and lowercase letters
- At least one digit
- Special characters allowed and encouraged (!@#$ etc.)
- Cannot be your email or username
- Cannot be common passwords (password123, etc.)
- Use a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password, KeePass) to generate and store unique 16+ character passwords
After Password Reset — Recommended Actions
- Immediately enable 2FA (Profile → Security) if not already enabled
- Review login history (Profile → Security → Login History) for unrecognized sessions
- Update email password if you suspect email may have been compromised
- Consider whether to enable login email alerts (notification on every login)
If You Can't Access Reset Email
If you've lost access to the email used for Quotex (forgot email password, abandoned email account, account deleted by provider), reset becomes harder. Process:
- Step 1 — Try to recover the email account first via your email provider's recovery process
- Step 2 — If email account permanently lost: contact Quotex support
- Step 3 — Support will request KYC re-verification (passport + selfie) to confirm identity
- Step 4 — Once identity verified, support can update your registered email to a new one
- Step 5 — You then receive password reset to new email
- Step 6 — Process takes 2-5 business days typically
Forgot Password FAQ
How long does the reset link stay valid?
24 hours from when the email was sent. If you wait longer than 24 hours, the link expires — request a new reset and click the new link within 24 hours.
Can I reuse my old password?
Yes, but we don't recommend it. Reusing the password you forgot defeats the purpose of the reset. Generate a new unique password. If forgot is because you reused a password from another site (and that site was breached), reusing it is dangerous.
Will my open trades be affected by password reset?
No. Password reset doesn't close trades, doesn't affect balance, doesn't impact anything except login credentials. Open trades continue normally until expiry.
What if someone else is requesting reset on my account?
If you receive a reset email you didn't request, someone may be attempting unauthorized access (probably they know your email but not your password). DO NOT click the link. Instead: log into Quotex normally with current password; change password to something stronger; enable 2FA if not enabled; review login history for any unauthorized sessions; contact Quotex support to report attempted unauthorized access.
Why is my new password rejected as 'too similar to old'?
Quotex may flag passwords that are minor variations of your old password (e.g., changing 'Password1' to 'Password2'). Use a meaningfully different password — different words, different structure. Password managers generate fully random passwords that bypass this issue.
Can I get the password reset by SMS instead of email?
Currently Quotex's reset flow is email-only. SMS-based reset may come in future updates. For now, ensure your email is secured with 2FA so that even if password is forgotten, your email account itself is safe.
